Hi, I am Adawe Bosworth.
I asked for a real camera five Christmases before I finally got my first one, a $50 Sony digital camera (I was disappointed). I wanted a REAL camera, but I still appreciated anything better than my first-generation iPod Touch. I used that little digital camera until it fell apart.
The idea of perspective has always been intriguing to me. I know I can only ever see life through my own eyes, but I constantly crave new perspectives. New lenses to view the world through. Photo and video have empowered me to create visuals that convey a glimpse of how the world can be seen, with different moods, feels, and designs, and a chance at seeing it through someone else's eyes too.
That little camera turned into a career. I was already running my first business, Phosh, before I graduated. I studied Digital Video Production at the University of North Florida, took every photography, videography, and content class I could, and kept upgrading my gear along the way to a Panasonic Lumix GH.
After I graduated, I started at Maritime Creative, and they put me in to open and run The Lab as General Manager and Creative Director. It began as a studio space in St. Augustine, 88-foot cyc wall and all. (Some of you will remember it. Labstas forever.)
After a few years, the demand shifted. Our clients didn't need a studio anymore. They needed someone who could show up wherever the work was, so we went mobile, and The Lab STA became The Lab by Adawe.
I still love a good photo. That part never left. But the bigger thing I've learned through all of it is that a great picture is only the start. What most businesses actually need is more than images. They need someone to guide them through the whole journey: the content, the social media, the digital presence, and the strategy behind all of it.
That's what The Lab is now. We give a small business the kind of presence that looks like it came with a $10,000 budget, even when it didn't, and we help them figure out where to take it next.
